Comments: I was LTjg SC and aboard in 1961/1962 as Supply & Disbursing Officer. Coment: I was aboard during the 1961 west pac cruise and operation domonic in 1962. As Supply Officer, I did not have a general quarters duty station so I was the ship photographer. I was the one that bought all that grass fed beef in Australia that everyone got very tired of. I took several pictures of the nuclear bombs, the sinking of the freighter and the initiation of the polywogs from the army that wanted to become shellbacks. I expect to have those in CD form available later. I had a career as a bank president in Nebr, an oil and gas driller in PA and I retired from Merrill Lynch as a financial consultant in 2001.

Comments: Just looking over your website and it's a great one. I was in the amphibious force onboard the USS Epping Forest LSD-4 and the USS Gunston Hall LSD-5 from 57-59. Always wanted to be on a destroyer sometime to see what it felt like to go 30 knots or so. We steamed around 12 or 13 knots. Quite a difference.
